Spode Blue Room Collection
Spode occasionally reissues retired patterns. The Blue Room Collection includes blue and white transferware from Spode’s archive. Some patterns are only available in limited pieces. Others patterns have a lot of pieces available.
Originating from the 18th century, Spode’s Blue Room collection is made up from a medley of distinctive motifs and patterns, ranging from floral to faunal, to famous places and scenery.
The blue and white designs, made famous by Josiah Spode, continue to be produced today capturing the same authentic Spode blue that was born from the original process of under-glaze printing from hand engraved copper plates.

Three sets of collectible plates are available; the Blue Room Georgian Plates, the Blue Room Zoological Plates and the Blue Room Traditions Plates. Each is a set of 6 dinner plates. They mix beautifully with other Spode Blue and White transferware. You can display them or use them. Or both. They are dishwasher and microwave safe.

The Georgian collection includes patterns that have been most popular in Spode’s early years. Some of the patterns, like Blue Willow, continue to be popular.
The Georgian Blue Room set of plates includes Botanical, Floral, Girl at Well, Rome, Willow and Woodman.

Spode Blue Room Zoological Plates
The Zoological Blue Room set of plates includes Rhinoceros, Kangaroo, Camel, Tiger, Zebra and Ostrich.
When these patterns were first produced in the 19th Century, exotic animals were curiosities and not well known. These plates feature animals in landscaped gardens being admired by the visiting public.
