Kalco Lodge Style Ponderosa Outdoor Lighting

Kalco has been making Ponderosa Outdoor Lighting longer than I have been in lighting. Imperial Electric had one of the double wall lanterns on display and I fell in love.

This is the smallest of the wall lanterns. It is 10.25″ wide x 17.25″ high. It takes any medium base bulb up to 100 watts. Because you can’t see the bulb, go ahead and use a fluorescent screw in. They are too ugly to use usually, but you can’t see it here

Over the years, there have been some changes. For a while there were two finishes.  You can still sometimes find pieces in Sycamore finish on eBay or Amazon.

The double lanterns are two of the small wall lanterns mounted to a single backplate. Overall, they are 14″ wide x 23″ high.

I remember which is which by which is up. Left to right. 9162, left side up. 9163, right side up.

The pine needles and pinecone stems can be adjusted to make each light natural looking.
The collection has small and large wall lanterns and a double wall lantern in right and left orientations.

The large wall lantern is 20.25″ wide x 17.5″ high. It has a 3-light socket set for candelabra bulbs. It takes up to 60 watt incandescent bulbs, but you can get even more light with LEDs.

The photos don’t make it clear, but the large lantern is about twice as wide as the smaller version.

The small wall lantern is 10.25″ wide x 17.25″ high and extends 11″.
The large wall lantern is 20.25″ wide x 17.5″ high and extends 11.5″.

The doubles are two of the small lanterns.

The hanging lantern is sealed and can be used even where it’s going to get some rain. It’s beautiful. Really beautiful. You can use it indoors, too. It 14″ wide x 16″ high and uses three 60 watt candelabra bulbs or brighter LEDs.

It includes 56″ of chain and even more wire. The canopy is 5.73″ wide x 1″ thick. The canopy and backplates are really hand-made looking.

The glass is quite thick. It is white with marble type swirls. The finish is not shiny at all. It looks very natural. Incandescent bulbs give it a warm glow. LEDs come in warm, neutral and cool. Cool LEDs make the glass look very white.

You can adjust the pine cones and pine needles.

The ceiling light is 14.5″ wide x 9.25″ high. This measurement goes to the very edge of the branches sticking out. The part that is actually the light is 13.1″ wide.

It holds two 60 watt Medium base bulbs or even brighter LED or Fluorescent.

This one is sealed so you can use it inside or outside. Kalco makes more Ponderosa ceiling lights you can use indoors.

The beautiful indoor pieces in the Ponderosa Collection are rated for dry location only.

There are two Post Lanterns. The single one is 14″ wide x 19″ high. It uses one 100 watt Medium base bulb. It fits on any standard pole, post or pier mount.

The 3-Light Lantern Head is tall, 51″ high even before it is mounted. You can use it on any standard 2.5/3″ pole, post or pier mount.

The pier mount is to fit either of the post lantern heads onto a wall or fence.

The lantern head slips over the inner fitting and the finish and textures match up.

The anchor base post fits onto concrete and bolts down. It is finished like a sculpted tree.

You can use either of the post heads on it.

The post is 88″ high from where it bolts down to the top of the fitting. Remember that the 3-Light Post Mount adds another 51″ to the height.

Pinecones, branches and tufts of pine straw make Ponderosa as individual as nature itself. The Ponderosa Outdoor Collection features Ponderosa finish with Marbleized Glass.
